  Sound Shift
Great Britain – added 5 December 2007

A pane of 25 1st Sounds of Britain stamps issued 3 October 2006 has surfaced with a 4mm shift of silver to the left. Purchased from a post office in Devon at the time of issue, the variety affects the Queen’s head, denomination and ‘EUROPA’ inscription. The result being that the Queen’s head touches the sitar, the denomination bisects the perforations, and the inscription appears along the right edge rather than the left. Dealers B Alan on +44 (0) 1732 743387 are selling singles for £75.
